Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8L USM Ultra Wide Angle Zoom Lens

Widely considered a professional photographer's "must-have" lens, the 16-35mm range allows for ultra wide angle shooting. The sturdy build quality of this L lens certainly makes it worthy of it's "L series" title. The standard USM version of this lens had been discontinued and in 2007 the USM II version took its place. While the standard 16-35 mm USM is discontinued it can still be found readily on the auction block.

While this lens was discontinued by Canon, the lens continues to remain popular in the used market; mainly due to the fact that it's still considered an affordable L lens. This lens is of the push-pull variety, which may feel a little unusual to those not used to this method of zooming. It is convenient for quick zooming, however it takes some experience to zoom accurately with this lens. Despite the age of this lenses build, the contrast quality is still considered exceptional, even by today's standards. The build is not as sturdy as the newer L series lens, however what it loses in build quality, it makes up for in affordability for what is still considered an exceptional lens.
