Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM

This lens's construction is mostly of hardened plastic in all black with a unique silver ring at the end of the lens that gives it a unique and expensive look when compared to other Canon lenses. The part where it connects to the camera body is made of metal to ensure minimal wear when taking it off of and putting it back on to the camera body. The lens is not built as well as the more expensive lenses in this focal range such as the L series ones that are really built to last and are for more serious photographers who need a lens that can take the abuse of everyday use and moving about in the field. The advantage to the less durable construction however is that the lens is very lightweight because it is made of less durable and therefore lighter materials.

The EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM telephoto zoom lens is very inexpensive when compared to the L series class of lenses even though it has around the same focal points as the L series 70-300mm lenses. You can get almost the same focal range for a fraction of the price with this lens although it isn’t quite as well built as the L series lenses, it can take similar shots and is great for semi pros and amateurs who may not want to make the investment required of the more expensive lenses within this focal length range. As indicated by the “USM” in the lenses title, the lens also features a Ultra Sonic Motor for smooth and quite auto focusing. You won’t find a lens with a better focal point range and auto focus mechanism for less money than this one. This is probably the best telephoto lens for those photographers that are stuck working on a limited budget.
